The search widget is not searching files in WP-filesbase? I tried and it all comes out with my posts but not my files.
    why?

Did you setup the File Browser Post? It should appear in the search results with all machting files.

There is a 0 in the File Browser Post ID now… how do I determine the correct ID to make this work on the search box of every page?

Create an Empty Page titled like “Downloads”.
Then go to Settings -> File Browser and use the Select Button to choose the created page.

Ok – so to confirm: There is no way to integrate the download search into the WordPress Search at this time. That would be a great feature considering how useless the WordPress Search is. As you likely know it can only search blog content and will not index the website pages. There are plugins that are supposed to extend the search functionality, but none of the ones I have tried have worked.

    Hello,

Is there possible to display in widget category’s content recursivley?
I have child categories in parent category, and in these child cats. I have uploaded documents, which I would like to display (all of them) by choosing the parent category name.

    Is that possible?

    thanks

      Hi mamamtum, Fabian,
I am also desperately looking for this functionality to be included into widget “Category List”. Is there any workaround for this for now?
Also, Category list displayed is empty when I un-check the “Show hierarchy” checkbox ie. no category is displayed.
But on selecting this checkbox the entire folder list is displayed in list mode.
Please address more control on this in future releases as it can solve lot of my problems.
Please let me know if any solution is already available for this.

      Thanks,
      Deepak Mittal

      Hi mamamtum,
I have found one workaround for this. You can use the shortcode generated by TinyMCE–>Filebase–>File Tree View inside Text Widget. Here you can apply all the roles related control. Its though manual but works fine until we have proper control in Filebase Category widget.

      Thanks and Regards,
      Deepak

But the problem is that it will list all the files also under the child category. Which I do not want to display in sidebar. So, we would really need this functionality into the Category widget.

        Thanks,
        Deepak

There is a bug in the Category widget hierarchical mode. Will be fixed with the next update.
To fix this yourself, you can edit classes/Widget.php:
          search for

          . 'ORDER BY

          and replace with

          . ' ORDER BY

          Regards
          Fabian

            Hi Fabian,
Thanks for the quick reply. I love your plugin the most till now. Its listing all the categories.
But I have a different requirement.

I want that when user clicks on any of the category, it goes to a page (custom) where data-table based files are displayed corresponding to that only category and all of its child categories.

I have already created the templates(File+Category+FileList) for displaying fixed categories, but want to display it based upon the category name received from above click.

Kindly suggest any workaround for this.

            Thanks and Regards,
            Deepak Mittal

Also, could you please add feature/option to select any specific category and its children while displaying categories list.

It already exists, just use the File List Widget and sort by date.

Hi – Is it possible to include the “Comments” field in the Widget upload?
and, if so, will the search function also search for terms in that field and return results accordingly?

    Great Plugin BTW!

    Tx

    Hi there,

I have created different Categories.. linked the filebase to a page with the id.. but for some reason the Categories are not showing up in the File Upload Widget.. it just has select and nothing else.

I can see the categories on the linked page when I go there.

When I try to upload a file anyway I cannot find it on the filebase… can you help me?

    Hello.
Is there any possibility to print or convert to pdf, the info of the filebase?

For example, if a person looks for something… Could be possible that he´ll print the result?

    Sorry for my poor English.
