    I would like to add to this conversation. I too would like to turn these options off. I want my users to add descriptions and tags and choose a category. The upload link under the category tree skips all of that and just uploads the file to the root category.

    I’m having the same issue. On the front-end, using the + under the category, I get an “HTTP error.” Using the embedded form I get a “Cheatin’ uh? (atts)” error. High Security is disabled and I’ve changed the other settings to what you define as “safe.” Please advise.
