I have a list here : http://www.jennyreadresearch.com/publications/ showing all publicly viewable files in publication date order.
I’m also using the (excellent) file tree browser to show files in categories/subcategories: http://www.jennyreadresearch.com/publications/browser/.
On that first page, I’d like to show just files in categories 1, 2, and 3, excluding files in category 4.
Unfortunately, because the files are organised into subcategories, if I ask for a full date-order list of files in category 1, I get nothing – presumably because the files are actually in subcategory 7 inside category 1.
I don’t really want to manually tick to include all the subcategories in the list, as the site owner is bound to forget to do that as categories are added, and will end up with files missing from the full date order list.
Is there another way to get a full date order list of everything inside a category including files in child and grandchild subcategories?
