How to capture input of custom field? How to style the form?

Hi.
I’ve been playing in the sandbox and I *think* I can do all that I need, but since I can only play in the sandbox as Admin I can’t be sure what my customers (guest access) will see.

Please can you confirm that only specific files uploaded to a page will be visible in that specific page? I don’t want all pages to show all ‘guest’ uploaded files.

Also, I can’t make a custom field capture the user input. I have created a custom field in the upload form and have added a custom display fields to the file and email templates, but these remains blank after uploading a file.

Finally can you point me to the CSS that styles the upload form (or maybe that’s not available in the sandbox)?
