WP-Filebase Pro hooks into WordPress search so files appear along other posts and pages in the results.
Consider this demo of search results. It displays matching files (File Pages, you can change the appearence under Embed Templates / File Page / Filepage Excerpt), matching posts and at the end the file browser with matching files in a seperate list (you can change the template of this list in Settings / Display / Search Result File List Template).
Note that search includes attached files to a post/page and considers them as a part of the content of this post/page. For example if you search for “screenshot.png” , the page “Embedded Upload Form” appears because it has a matching file attached.
If a file does not appear in the search results as expected follow these steps.
- In Dashboard / WP-Filebase / Files use the searchbox at the upper right. If this works, make sure that the option Common / Search Integration is enabled.
- In the dashboard click on a file to edit. Below the edit form you’ll find a box listing the keywords used for search. For PDF documents, if keywords are missing install the OCR extension.

I’m new to your plugin but so far it is everything I need plus plus!
I do have one problem the “search” widget only searches the category on that page and not all categories. Any suggestions?

Is there a page or a warning message that can be displayed if a user searches for a file that doesn’t exist? Right now it just shows a blank page.
