With the File Browser users can browse through all categories. It will appear on the Page or Post set in WP-Filebase Settings. If search integration is enabled the File Browser Page will be included in search results listing all matching files using the Default Template.
When a user selects a form from the file browser, the form opens. When the user tries to save the form to their computer, it puts either document.pdf as the file name or something like “http___www.domainname.pdf” Is there a way to force it to provide the file name?
What Browser/OS/PDF Reader?
This should be fixed by enabling permalinks.
All browsers and Permalinks are enabled. (Chrome, Firefox, IE – all updated). It works for one site, but not our other one. Unchecking, refreshing, and rechecking permalinks fixed it though. Thank you so much.
This is a great plugin. Wondering if there is a way to sort the file browser other than alphabetical. Doesn’t seem to be an option for that. I have added custom post orders to all of the downloads, but can’t get it to register.
Just figured it out. That was easy.
So how did you get it to be NON-alphabetical ?
great tool. thanks a lot.
is it possible to use the filebrowser with a search-funktion on top? I tried to make my own template, but i think its not possible with the animates filebrowser.
thanks for an info or tip.

Hi Fabian, I love your job. I only can’t guess why when my guests download a file, they don’t get it with its proper name, but it is renamed with its ID (I suppose it’s the ID)…I used your plugin for a non-profit music association, but I find it would be useful also for many of the professional sites I manage (obviously, I would buy the Pro version), but without this issue being solved, I can’t manage to make it accessible to my customers.
Could you please explain that?
The answer is “check the option – force download”. I figured out by myself. Sorry for bothering
Is it possible to have the file browser display upload date, description or other values?
Has anyone ever tried to make the file browser less like a tree and more like a folder in a folder view? So when you open the first folder you only see folders below that folder?
can i customize the file browser style?if possible, how? where can i found the source code for file browser?
How can I place File list in FileBrowser category.
I want to list files instead of names when user expands folder. It should also have sorting capability so want to use list.
Problem with folder permissions (Firefox).
User has role: Subscriber
WP-Filebase Pro Settings / Permissions: Everywhere only “Administrator”
WP-Categories: Access authorization: Adminsitrator + that specific user
Result: the user sees the root categorie but can not explode the sub-categories
Changing role to Editor: Same result
Changing Permissions: Create Categories: Editor – same result
Changing Permissions: Delete Categories: Editor – now the user can explode subcategories, but can also create files within folders wher he has no upload Permission
A user should only have the permission to read files and create file within one specific folder. He should not have the permission to create catergories at all. How to solve this?
on my site some of the categories/files show up for all uses but some require the user to an “Editor”. Categories show up for all users but they can’t be expanded (as if there are no files in the category. If I log in as administrator or an “Editor” all files show up correctly. I have compared the permissions on the ones the do and don’t work correctly and they all look the same. Do you have any advice on how I can troubleshoot?
Hi,
I have the same problem. For non members only category appears in browser mode. Have you managed to solve those problems ?
Thanks by advance
No. Does the filebase developer monitor these postings?
