With the File Browser users can browse through all categories. It will appear on the Page or Post set in WP-Filebase Settings. If search integration is enabled the File Browser Page will be included in search results listing all matching files using the Default Template.
Hi there,
first of all, many thanks for this gorgeous plugin. It is going to help me a lot to manage the huge number of school related documents for students, parents and teachers alike.
I just want you to know, that in my website, wp-filebase didn’t go together with NextGen gallery 2.0.22 (latest version). As I am not quite sure whose fault it is I write to both of you.
Maybe you can figure out what it is that prevents the file browser from loading.
By the way, I am aware that the photocrati guys are struggling a lot since NextGen 2.0.
Maybe, this is just another minor task for them.
Best regards,
Axel Seebahn
In case you did not know. It helped to comment out line 9 of wpfb-ajax.php (@ob_end_clean();) within your plugin.
Maybe this could be helpful to anyone.

Hi Guys,
I am using the pro version and the text you mention for me is on line 17.
However, If I comment this out, I just get a spinning loading icon under the tree folders.
Any further suggestions?
Hi guys and many thanks for the plugin.
I’ve a question related to the file browser:
Is it possible to modify the layout, and for example, show all file in a table, or include more info for each file?
Thanks very much.
Same problem… It just spins when i click on + icon, any suggestion would help. I tried commenting out line nr9. but didn’t help.. Thanks
When i used firebug, as so on as i click on + icon it pauses in debugger in file buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/global.js?ver=3.5.1 file and doesn’t do anything
When i deleted buddypress it stopped spinning 🙂 but it still doesn’t show any subcategories inside that category and any files inside subcat. Even in firebug it shows ‘placeholder’ in not the file paths. Please help Thanks
My problem is solved. I just removed the forward slash at the end in the filebrowser tag in my page and undo the change. It worked. 🙂
Why does the filebrowser still remain in his contend in english. The admin section is german but the users get their contend shown in english. “next , previos, search.. and so on..) I have the .po and .mo files in the right place. I am not sure but I think this issue came up after updating to latest WP release 3.9. Everything else is working fine for me I ama Pro owner.
Regards Bernhard
Are you referring to DataTables? Then take a look at //wpfilebase.com/how-tos/translate-datatables/

Can someone PLEASE tell me how to add a “Download” button next to each and every file that’s listed?
I’ve been searching and searching for a solution but I’m lost :'(

I am using FREE version but planning to purchase the PRO today.
Just one question that the ‘File Tree View” is not working. It is showing rotating spin image in the page and a JavaScript Popup screen shows one error :
“SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character”
Temporarily I am getting the work done via “File List”.
Hi,
disable any other plugins and try again. Whats the URL of the File Browser page?

Fabian
Is the following workflow possible with Pro:
1. Set a folder in the server file system to only be accessible by a user or role
2. Copy files to that folder
3. Sync in the WP filebase backend
4. User with permission can then open file browser page and see the files – no other user can see the files.
Or are permissions manually set for each file in the backend following the upload?
I guess I am asking if there is a way to upload to a location only accessible by a certain user/role?
Thanks for your help.
Hi Matt,
permissions – if not explicitly set – are inherited from the category, so no need of manually setting permissions.
This workflow is totally possible.
Regards
Fabian
Thanks Fabian.
We have set up custom roles using the ‘Members’ plugin. The filebrowser does not show up at all for users with these custom roles. Does WP-Filebase work with custom roles?
Thanks.
Don’t worry about this one. I tried it in a fresh install and it worked.
