General about WP-Filebase
WP-Filebase’s file management
WP-Filebase uses a category/sub-category/file taxonomy. Each category can have multiple sub-categories (child categories) and files.
The file system is kept in sync with the category tree in the Database, e.g. each category has a folder containing the files and directories of all children (files and categories). This brings the advantage that you can easily add, modify or delete files directly on the file system, for example by FTP. WP-Filebase offers a function to synchronize the database with the file system, so file properties like size and hash sum get updated. (Never forget to sync after changing files with FTP!). See Sync.

Your documentation claims WP-Filebase Pro is compatible with Relevanssi (here: https://wpfilebase.com/documentation/filepages/). That’s true, but the compatibility is slightly limited. I just had a Relevanssi Premium customer buy WP-Filebase Pro, and now I have to tell him it’s not compatible in the way he expected it would be, so I was thinking you could update your documentation a bit.
Relevanssi can index and search the files managed with WP-Filebase Pro, but – this is critical – Relevanssi Premium can’t currently index the contents of the files managed with WP-Filebase Pro. Just the metadata: title, comments, custom fields, tags and so on.

Seems like this product is no longer supported and has issues displaying the folder icons for categories. Can’t receive any type of response.

Interesting plugin – and I really like developers who offer proper demo sites. However one thing I noticed from the demo is that although I can prevent users from downloading files, I can’t seem to find any setting (it’s not a page nor a post) that prevents them from accessing the ‘file’ view and seeing existing or adding new comments. In my case if users (individuals or roles) aren’t authorised to access the file (set via file or category restrictions) – I don’t want them accessing the file view either?
